Tires being slashed in a Fairfield town

(07/18/03) FAIRFIELD - A recent streak of vandalism on a street in Fairfield is leaving hundreds of dollars in damage and causing headaches for neighbors. On Castle Avenue, residents are waking to find their tires were slashed.

Police say it is probably the work of a group of kids who act randomly. Neighbors say it has happened several times during the past few months and they don't care who it is, they just want it stopped.

The Fairfield Police Department has since stepped up patrols in the neighborhood, claiming it hasn't seen vandalism like this any surrounding neighborhoods recently. So police think the vandals probably live on or near Castle Avenue.
