Gov. Dannel Malloy signed new rules into law yesterday for people convicted of drunken driving.
The bill requires anyone convicted of a DUI to install an ignition-lock system that will only start the car if the driver passes a Breathalyzer test.
It also cuts license suspensions for convictions from 90 days to 45 days.
The new rules take effect July 1.
