Jennifer Ranney, of Fairfield, facing charges after allegedly leaving kids alone in car

A Fairfield woman is facing charges after police say she left her young children unattended in a car.

Police say an off-duty firefighter discovered the children, ages 2 and 4, watching a video in an unlocked van in front of the Bob's Stores on Post Road Wednesday.

Officers later found the mother, 37-year-old Jennifer Ranney, who says she was in constant view of her car and kids from inside the store.
