Stamford’s First Hop, Skip and a Run 5K will benefit Achilles International
A woman who once had to relearn to walk and talk after a snowboarding accident will now have a chance to compete in a race Sunday.
Jen Gonzalez will participate in Stamford's first Hop, Skip and a Run: a 5K race where participants must hop, skip and run at different points.
Half Full Brewery will sponsor the race with proceeds going to support Achilles International.
The organization pairs disabled athletes with a guide to help lead them through whatever race or event they want to do.
Gonzalez says she is doing much more than she thought she would thanks to Achilles International.
