LeBron James opts out of Miami Heat contract, residents hope he will join Knicks
LeBron James announced Tuesday that he's willing to opt out of the remaining two years of his contract with the Miami Heat.
James first announced he was headed to play for the Heat at the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, four years ago.
News 12 Connecticut's Courtney Kane spoke to club members who remember being there in Greenwich to watch the big announcement.
Many say they are hoping James will now come to play for the Knicks.
The Dolan family owns controlling interest in Cablevision and the New York Knicks. Cablevision is the parent company of News 12.
