Investigators: Arson to blame for fires at Pearl East and Sushi X Two restaurants

Stamford fire officials say arson is to blame for two fires that sparked within 10 days of each other at two different restaurants.
The Pearl East restaurant on Summer Street was severely damaged and remains closed. The restaurant's rooftop is charred, its windows are boarded up and the glass front door is smashed.
According to police, a fire started at Sushi X Two on Atlantic Street days earlier when someone cut a hole in a window screen, poured gasoline through the window and then set it on fire. Officials say the fire was self-extinguished and the restaurant was able to reopen the following day.
Officials say both fires were started in similar ways, but it's too early to tell if they're connected. No one was injured in either fire.
Fire officials say there's a $3,500 reward being offered to anyone with information leading to arrests of the persons responsible for setting the fires.
