Home security system scares away intruder in Bridgeport

A Bridgeport homeowner can credit his recently bought surveillance system for scaring away a woman trying to break into his home.
Matt Pikul's surveillance system caught a woman using a screwdriver to try to break in through a window. The alarm scared the intruder away and got a good picture of her face for police.
Early in the video, there is a second person walking with the woman. Pikul thinks the woman was on the phone with that person, who would have come into the house and helped her if the alarm hadn't gone off.
Investigators say as home security systems get cheaper, more people are buying them. Bridgeport police recommend security systems and recommend that neighbors look out for each other, especially when it comes to spotting intruders.
Police are asking that anyone with information on the intruder call them immediately.
