Former Bridgeport firefighter Bruce Toth accused of threatening Chief Brian Rooney

A former Bridgeport firefighter is facing charges for allegedly threatening the fire chief.

Police say Bruce Toth, 59, showed up at the fire headquarters Friday and demanded to see Chief Brian Rooney.

Investigators say he threatened to harm the chief and himself.

After his arrest, police say they found a gun in his vehicle with an expired permit.

Police say Toth resigned from the department in 2007.
