A Milford teenager charged with murdering his classmate was back in court Wednesday for a brief hearing.
Christopher Plaskon, 17, allegedly stabbed 16-year-old Maren Sanchez to death in a hallway at Jonathan Law High School back in April. It was supposed to be the day of their junior prom, which was canceled after Sanchez's death. Some students say Plaskon killed Sanchez because she rejected his invitation to the prom.
At the hearing, prosecutors said they were in the process of handing over materials from the police investigation to the defense so they can start building their case. The hearing lasted about a minute and family members of both Plaskon and Sanchez were in attendance.
Plaskon's attorneys did not say what their defense position will be, but did say they are considering several mental health arguments. Plaskon is due back in court on Oct. 16.
