Man hurt in hit-and-run after truck hits scooter in Bridgeport
A Bridgeport man asked for the public's help today in finding the driver of a pickup truck that he says struck his scooter and kept on going.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the intersection of North Avenue and Parallel Street.
Doug Robinson says he was driving down North Avenue on his scooter when the driver of the black pickup truck changed lanes and ran into him, then kept going.
Robinson says he was left with a broken shoulder and that the impact of the accident knocked him unconscious.
Robinson's mother heard about the accident while watching News 12 Connecticut at her home in Norwalk. She says she is grateful her son's injuries are not life-threatening.
Robinson says because he was not wearing a helmet, he feels lucky that he wasn't more seriously hurt.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the accident to call them.
