Rabbi Jeremy Wiederhorn, of Westport, returns from 'solidarity mission' to Gaza and Israel

A Westport rabbi has returned from a "solidarity mission" to Gaza and Israel.

Rabbi Jeremy Wiederhorn, from the Conservative Synagogue in Westport, was part of a group of more than a dozen rabbis who visited the region. For two days, the group visited Gaza and Israel to meet with government officials and families. Wiederhorn says the visit was to bring comfort and let them know people in North America were thinking of them.

Wiederhorn says he was amazed by the resilience of everyone he met. Despite hearing bombs and sirens, he says he always felt safe.
