19-year-old male, of Norwalk, in critical condition after shooting at Rippowam Park in Stamford

A 19-year-old male from Norwalk is in critical condition after being shot in the head at a Stamford apartment complex.



Police say the incident happened at Rippowam Park near Myano Lane at around 11:45 p.m. Friday. They say a group of people were hanging out when the teen was shot in the back of the head.



Authorities stepped up patrols in the area Saturday evening. They say the victim underwent surgery and is expected to survive.



Anyone with information on the shooting should contact Stamford police.
