A Weston mother was arrested Saturday night for allegedly leaving her son alone in a parked car while she met up with friends for drinks in Norwalk.
Police say they found the 1-year-old boy in a parked car on Washington Street. The child's mother, 32-year-old Christina Failla of Weston, allegedly left him in the car so she could meet up with her friends for drinks at Harlan Publick.
Witnesses told police the boy had been left alone for at least 30 minutes, though police say Failla told them she only left her son for a few minutes. Failla claims he was within sight of the bar. Police say the boy's father works at Washington Prime and was working late and unable to watch the child, leaving Failla to take matters into her own hands.
Failla is due in court Aug. 27. The boy is being cared for by a family member.
