Police: Suspects attempted to rob deliveryman
Bridgeport police say three people are behind bars after an attempted robbery early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred just after midnight on the 100 block of Coleman Street.
Officials say three masked teens tried to rob a Papa John's pizza deliveryman.
Police say the deliveryman managed to escape before actually being robbed. They say the suspects got into a green Honda Accord and sped away.
The deliveryman followed the suspects and got their plate number, and police say they pulled the car over nearby and arrested two suspects, ages 15 and 17. They say they arrested a 16-year-old female at a nearby home a short time later.
A neighbor that owns the restaurant next to Papa John's says the restaurant has been robbed before.
Because the suspects are underage, police are not revealing their identities.
Police say they found masks and gloves inside the suspect's car, along with other evidence tying them to the crime.
