Police: Ex-Stamford teacher arrested again
Police say a former Stamford High School teacher who pleaded guilty to having an inappropriate relationship with a student has been arrested again.
As previously reported, 32-year-old Danielle Watkins pleaded guilty last month to having sex with one student and providing him and another teen with marijuana.
Police say Watkins was arrested Friday night after threatening one of the victims at a Dunkin Donuts on Grove Street, violating the conditions of her release. Police say Watkins spoke to the teen that she admitted providing drugs to at the coffee shop.
Watkins' attorney says his client did not plan to see the teen. "She did not want to have contact with them. It was simply a random chance meeting," he says.
Watkins is currently being held on $25,000 bond.
Watkins is set to be sentenced for her original crimes on Jan. 22. Her attorney says it is not clear how these new charges of threatening and violating the conditions of her release will affect her case, where she could receive anywhere from nine months to four years in jail.
Watkins will appear before a judge on the new charges on Monday.
