Deadly heroin makes its way into ConnecticutPosted: Updated:
Redding police are warning the public of a heroin threat that has entered the state.
Officers tell News 12 that three especially dangerous batches of heroin were discovered in New Jersey and are apparently already spreading across the Northeast. Officials confirm the heroin has made its way into Connecticut.
Redding police say the heroin is in packaging that says "Power Hour," "Strike Dead" or "Taliban." Anyone who comes across the packaging is asked to call local authorities immediately.
Authorities say they are warning people to remain vigilant now that the images of the heroin packaging has surfaced. They say the drug dealers may now try to change the packaging as a result.
Police say these batches are not the typical street kind of heroin. They say this drug can be mixed with other narcotics and cut with contents that Narcan may not be able to help.
Redding police reported three heroin overdoses in their community for 2014.
