Bridgeport leaders visit recently reopened restaurant
Local leaders in Bridgeport visited a recently reopened restaurant on Saturday to applaud their efforts in helping to revitalize the city.
Mayor Bill Finch and Sen. Richard Blumenthal stopped by Bridgeport Lobster and Shellfish on Knowlton Street, which reopened in November after closing earlier in the fall. The store was remodeled and new ownership was brought in.
The restaurant is part of a new wave of businesses opening near the Pequonnock River after authorities began building nearby Knowlton Park in 2012.
The business says they credit the park for bettering the town and expect it to help boost business.
The park is being built in several phases. The mayor says it should be completed by this spring.
