Police chase involving stolen car in Stratford ends with 15-year-old boy in custody

A 15-year-old boy is facing charges after leading police on a chase through Stratford.

It started Monday at around 6 p.m. in the south end of Stratford near Lordship.

According to police, an officer tried to pull over a 15-year-old boy who was driving a stolen car. The boy then led them on a chase through the city. Police say he eventually pulled over for two other minors to run away, but then started driving again. Police eventually had to end their pursuit after it was considered too dangerous.

The chase ended at the Dunkin' Donuts on Boston Avenue after the driver hit a curb. According to workers there, the boy actually ordered food, but was interrupted by police. He then took off running and tried to hide near the dumpsters.

The boy's identity has not been released. The 15-year-old driver will appear in juvenile court later this month.

The two other minors involved will not face charges.
