Weather warmup arrives in time for spring break

Students and parents around western Connecticut marked the first day of spring break Monday.

In Norwalk, vacationers packed Calf Pasture Beach to enjoy the day off and the sunshine.

Parents and baby sitters say they're thankful for the good weather because they were able to start their break by letting kids burn off energy outdoors.

Playgrounds in the area were also packed, and kids were out in numbers bicycling and riding scooters.

The pleasant conditions will continue Tuesday, with sunny skies and highs near 70 degrees.
