Teen arrested in Bridgeport double shooting that left 1 dead

Police have arrested a 19-year-old Bridgeport man in connection with a double shooting that left one man dead last month.

Police say on March 18, Tikhari Morton lured 18-year-old Gregory Francilme and another man to an apartment building on Bretton Street and then shot them behind the building.

Francilme was killed just two days before his 19th birthday. The other shooting victim is expected to survive.

Police say Morton was arrested by Waterbury police for a separate crime and was held there until Friday, when he was brought to Bridgeport and charged with murder.

Officers found the alleged murder weapon in Morton's possession and say he confessed to the shooting, though the motive remains unclear.

Morton was also charged with a separate robbery that happened the night before the shooting.

It marked Bridgeport's sixth homicide of the year. Police say arrests have been made in each case.
