Murder, abduction suspect extradited to CT

The man who triggered an Amber Alert in February after police say he abducted his daughter and killed the child's mother was brought back to Bridgeport on Friday.

Oscar Hernandez, 39, waived extradition from Pennsylvania earlier in the week.

Hernandez was arrested in February after a car chase while police were attempting to rescue 6-year-old Aylin Hernandez, who police say was abducted.

"The Amber Alert worked perfectly and it allowed us to quickly get information to law enforcement agencies across multiple states, and luckily troopers in Pennsylvania spotted Mr. Hernandez's vehicle and were able to take him into custody," says Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald.

Hernandez is being held on a $1.5 million bond and will be arraigned Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
