Parts of western CT hit with wintry mix

When it rains, it pours -- at least Friday in western Connecticut.

Torrington in Litchfield County is expected to receive some wintry weather early this weekend, as well, including chunky, wet snowflakes, sleet and freezing rain.

Drivers can anticipate roads being treacherous overnight in some spots, especially on routes 7 and 8.

Ice accumulation could be as much as one-third of an inch.

The rain is expected to continue through Saturday morning, while Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs near 54 degrees.
