1 recovering after triple shooting in Bridgeport

One person was recovering from surgery Monday after a triple shooting this past weekend at the Trumbull Gardens apartments in Bridgeport.

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Trumbull Avenue complex.

Police say a possibly stolen dirt bike was at the heart of the incident. They say at least two shooters hit three people: one person who had the dirt bike and two of his friends.

The victim who underwent surgery is expected to survive.

Police Chief AJ Perez says people from both sides of the incident have criminal records.

There is no word on whether any arrests have been made. Investigators say two of the three victims are not cooperating.

In response to the shooting, police are reopening a precinct that closes for the winter. They are also increasing patrols throughout the city.
