Nonprofit aims to find homes for rescue dogs

A nonprofit group is asking for the public's help to find permanent homes for a dozen dogs that were recently rescued.

Bridgeport Animal Rescue Coalition, also known as BARC, partnered with Bark Avenue Pethouse in Milford Saturday to help the dogs find forever homes.

BARC members say they also need people willing to foster dogs before they are adopted.

The group says it recently won a pledge to receive a limited amount of federal funding, but volunteers and donations are still needed.
