Bridgeport welcomes Huskies, women's NCAA tournament

The City of Bridgeport rolled out the red carpet Saturday for the NCAA women's basketball tournament at the Webster Bank Arena.

Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim said he is proud to host the UConn Huskies in the Park City yet again.

"It's having a great impact on our local economy. We want everyone to be welcomed to downtown Bridgeport, to the arena, and be a part of what's going on here this weekend," says Ganim.

The Huskies did their part during their afternoon victory over the UCLA Bruins. It was their 110th consecutive win. They now advance to the Elite Eight for the 12th consecutive time.
