Wilton police make arrest in holiday car break-ins

Wilton police arrested a Bristol man Friday in connection with car burglaries during the holidays in December.

They say Jay Crump Jr., 27, stole credit cards from at least two cars and used them at stores in Southington and Waterbury.

The cars were unlocked and parked along West Meadow Road and Rivergate Drive. police say.

"I cannot stress enough to lock your vehicles," says Lt. Rob Cipolla, of the Wilton Police Department. "Hopefully they'll move on elsewhere if your vehicle is locked."

Police say they expect to make more arrests in connection with the burglaries.
