Stamford police arrest murder suspect wanted by NYPD

Stamford police arrested a man from Mexico who is wanted for murder in New York City.

Police say 20-year-old Juan Nico Morales was kicked out of a New Year's Eve party in Brooklyn and decided to retaliate.

"He walked around to a window and took a handgun and fired a shot through the window, striking somebody in the face and ultimately killing them," says Capt. Richard Conklin.

The NYPD charged Morales with murder and criminal possession of a firearm but were not able to locate him.

Stamford police say they raided a home on Smith Street early Friday morning and arrested Morales, charging him as a fugitive from justice.

Officials say Morales was extradited to New York Monday afternoon.
