35th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade held in Bridgeport

A crowd of hundreds lined Broad Street in Bridgeport for the city's 35th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade Friday.

Police officers, firefighters, community organizations and school marching bands were among the participants in the parade that was led by grand marshal and City Council President Thomas McCarthy.

Activities started with a Mass at 8 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, followed by a flag raising at city hall at 9:15 a.m.

The route began at Harbor Yard and traveled down Broad Street up until Fairfield Avenue before returning to Harbor Yard via Main Street.
