Wilton police arrest suspect in 1996 burglary

Wilton police say they have arrested a former baby sitter who burglarized her employer's home in 1996.

Beatris Agudelo, 41, was picked up by Norwalk police last week on an unrelated charge. She was then taken into custody by Wilton police.

An arrest warrant in the case was filed in 1997, but authorities were never able to locate Agudelo.

After Agudelo allegedly burglarized the Norwalk home, police say she went to a People's United Bank on Danbury Road and cashed stolen checks.

Agudelo is charged with forgery and larceny. She's due in court Monday.
