Fairfield Police Department helps seniors after nor’easter

The Fairfield Police Department gave seniors a helping hand Wednesday after the storm.

Student cadets with the department's Explorer Program were out shoveling and snowblowing.

Police say they work with the senior center to coordinate it all, and typically get a number of calls during snowstorms from people who need help.

"They think it's a great program because sometimes it's difficult for them to get out especially in this snow it's difficult to get through," says Lt. Rob Kalamaras.

Police are also reminding people to check on their elderly neighbors to make sure they are OK.
