Gov. Malloy issues weather protocol amid freezing temps

As temperatures plunge, Gov. Dannel Malloy is issuing a Severe Cold Weather Protocol.



The warning is in effect until Monday at 8 a.m.



Cities across southwestern Connecticut are being encouraged to open warming centers or other facilities to help those in need.



Anyone who needs to find a shelter or transportation to a shelter should call 211.



United Way's call center is dedicating extra resources to helping those in need as cold weather strikes.
