Smoke detector saves 2 from burning home in Bridgeport

Bridgeport firefighters are crediting smoke detectors with getting two people out of their burning home this morning.



However, News 12 is told two of their pets died in the fire on Carver Street just after 1 a.m.



The assistant fire chief says the smoke detectors were given to the residents through a city program that saves lives.
