Truck carrying massive turbine gets stuck in Torrington

A truck carrying an oversized load got stuck in Torrington this morning due to a mechanical issue.

The massive turbine on the truck is headed for an Oxford power plant.

The turbine is being carried by a 200-foot trailer, weighing more than 1 million pounds.

Police there say the oversized load was expected to cause major road closures and heavy delays through the overnight hours tonight, but they say it is now stuck in a parking lot at Lowes on Winstead Road.

The super load was supposed to be escorted by state police.
