Stamford's St. Patrick's Day parade held despite bitter cold

The chilly weather kept usually massive crowds from enjoying the 22nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Stamford Saturday.

The bitter temperatures and morning flurries clearly kept some people at home. Thousands of people usually head downtown for the annual tradition.

But those that bundled up say the parade didn't disappoint.

"A little cold never hurt a good Irishman," one reveler told News 12 Connecticut.

Organizers estimate about 80 community groups signed up to participate, including Irish dancers and pipe and drum bands.
