Milford crews rescue man stranded on Charles Island

The strong winds made for tough conditions for Milford fire officials as they rescued a hiker stranded on Charles Island.

Officials say the man, who was visiting from Oregon, walked out to the island to take pictures, but became stranded after the tide came in Thursday.

Crews made their way to the island to rescue him, and put the man in a waterproof suit so he could walk to the boat anchored off the island.
