Cleanup continues in Western CT after winds cause widespread damage

The cleanup continues today after fierce winds caused widespread damage and power outages in western Connecticut Thursday.

Tree service companies were scrambling to help remove large limbs that fell on lawns, homes, cars, roadways and even an unoccupied plane on a tarmac.

State police say the winds were deadly for a 40-year-old man from Wethersfield, who was killed on Route 6 in Columbia when a tree fell on his Dodge Ram.
