Western CT cleans up after violent winds down trees

Communities in western Connecticut are cleaning up after violent winds brought down trees and power lines.

News 12 Connecticut viewers sent in pictures of storm damage, including a tree that fell into a home in Stamford and another tree that fell across a driveway in Bridgeport.

Bert Porzio, of Bert's Tree Service in Westport, had a busy day of cutting up and removing fallen trees. He says he has to figure out who to help first during emergencies.

"You have to see who has the biggest emergency, get it off their house, get if off their car, and move on to the next one," Porzio says.

The system seems to work. Dorothy Fox, who had several downed trees in her backyard Thursday, says Porzio's service has been reliable for years.
