9-year-old boy fighting brain cancer named chief of Thomaston Police Department

There is a new chief of the Thomaston Police Department today, and even though he's only nine years old he's brave beyond his years.
Aidan Bigos was inside town hall getting a tour of his new chief's office. He’s been fighting Medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer.
Bigos says he wants to be a police officer when he grows up. So the Thomaston Police Department made his dream come true by naming him honorary chief for the day. He arrived at town hall for the ceremony in true hero fashion with a police escort.
Bigos also received his own little police uniform to wear, complete with patches and a badge. He was sworn in before a big crowd that included family, friends and community members. Everyone present at the ceremony has been there for this courageous little boy since his diagnosis last year.
"Today was awesome,” says Aidan’s sister Hannah. “I'm just so proud of him. He's come so far. I'm so happy for him because this is what he's always wanted. And now it has come true."
Bigos was also named grand marshal for the fire department's upcoming parade.
