Bridgeport police investigating death of 10-month-old boy as homicide

Police in Bridgeport are investigating the death of a 10-month-old boy as a homicide, the city's 8th murder of the year.
The child lived on the fifth floor of building three at the Greene Homes Apartment Complex on Highland Avenue.
Police tell News 12 Connecticut the medical examiner has ruled the death a homicide. The call came in around 11:30 Monday morning when loved ones found 10-month-old Donovan Siberon unresponsive. They say the child was rushed by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital, where he later died.
According to investigators, the infant had bruises on his body and doctors were concerned the child may have been abused. They also say he suffered a detached retina.
“It’s a tragic day anytime a child loses their life, especially a 10-month-old baby,” says Bridgeport Police Chief A.J. Perez. “My heart goes out to the mother and the father.”
Police are still investigating and nobody has yet to be charged in the case.
