Death of elderly Torrington woman ruled a homicide

A woman found dead in her Torrington home last weekend was the victim of a homicide, police say.

Phyllis Gervais, 79, was found inside her home early last Saturday morning.

According to the state Medical Examiner, Gervais died from blunt force trauma to her head and upper body.

No arrests have been made.

At the time of her death, police described the incident as "isolated to the location."
