Forecast: Cloudy, light rain overnight; scattered showers Saturday

New Jersey saw mostly cloudy skies and a touch of sunshine Friday with temperatures that were slightly cooler than average.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says that rain is expected Friday night going into Saturday, but sunshine should return by Sunday.

Friday’s overnight hours should see mostly cloudy skies with some scattered rain showers. Temperatures are expected to cool into the low-60s overnight.

Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy. Rain is possible in the morning and then again by the late afternoon. High temperatures should only reach the low-70s.

Conditions should clear by Sunday, with mostly sunny skies expected with a high of around 87 degrees.

Powers says that the following week is expected to see mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the 80s.
