Mostly sunny skies will be overhead Wednesday with highs around 39 degrees. And Thursday will see sunshine followed by increasing clouds with highs around 32.

News 12 is tracking the chance for a slippery start to Friday with snow or a wintry mix possible starting overnight Thursday intro Friday morning. Along the coast there could be just a coating of snow Friday but 2-4 inches of snow are possible further into northern Litchfield County. There is also a potential snowstorm that could arrive Saturday night and last into Sunday with the chance for moderate to heavy snow.

Some rain could mix in with the weekend snow and last until Monday morning when temperatures take a nose dive into the single digits.

Monday's morning commute could be extremely icy as a result of rain which could freeze overnight but the forecast depends on the storm's exact track and intensity.
