Forecast: Heavy rain, thunderstorms possible Friday

Friday should be a wet day across parts of western Connecticut, as scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected.

News 12 Connecticut Meteorologist Matt Hammer says temperatures Friday will be in the high-70s, with cloudy skies. There will be periods of rain and the chance of a few thunderstorms, with some of the rain being heavy at times. There is also the chance of a few stronger thunderstorms, mainly in the evening. Conditions throughout the day will be humid.

Temperatures overnight will drop into the high-60s, with mostly cloudy skies. A lingering shower or storm may continue into the overnight hours. Conditions will be muggy.

Saturday is expected to see temperatures in the high-80s, with increasing sunshine throughout the day. Conditions will remain humid.

Sunday should see sunny skies and similar temperatures in the mid to high-80s.
