Wall Street Theater, formerly known as the Globe Theater, reopens in Norwalk
A historic landmark in Norwalk reopened Monday night.
It had been 20 years since anyone performed on the stage, but that all changed Monday night as the Wall Street Theater, formerly known as the Globe Theater, reopened with a performance from eight of Broadway's best.
The 101-year old building was a renovation five years in the making. The new theater will house Broadway shows, concerts, comedy acts and more, while keeping a part of history with it. Chandeliers and murals from the original theater still remain inside.
The theater's artistic director says he's hoping the reopening will revitalize the part of the city, and also bring the community together.
The evening’s performance followed a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
