1. SPECIAL COUNSEL APPOINTED TO LEAD TRUMP-RUSSIA PROBE

The Justice Department made former FBI Director Robert Mueller a special counsel to oversee a federal investigation into potential coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign.

2. WHEN MUELLER CHANGED THE FBI

After the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, he spent the next 12 years wrestling the agency into a battle-hardened terrorism-fighting force.

3. WHO'S INTERVIEWING FOR FBI POST
