Fairfield University's 67th commencement ceremony was held Sunday and one member of the college's first graduating class was recognized for his success.
Ray Longden received a special honor during the commencement ceremony.
The class of 1951 graduate holds the Guinness Book of World Records for refereeing more football games than any other referee in America.
Longden officiated over 2,000 games since starting his career in 1947.
The 87-year-old says the best part of being a referee is the gratification he received working with players.
Longden says he hopes graduates of the Class of 2017 will use the tools they learned at Fairfield University to pursue their dreams.
