“Star Wars” celebrates 40th birthday

"The Last Jedi" doesn’t hit theaters until December, but today still marks a big day for "Star Wars" fans.
"Star Wars" first opened in theaters 40 years ago today on May 25, 1977.
Fans can celebrate the film's birthday anywhere from the Millennium Fandom Bar in Las Vegas to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
