Connecticut is losing more people than almost any state in the U.S., according to newly released Census numbers.

Greenwich may be one of the most exclusive communities in the country, but the new numbers show most towns in western Connecticut, including Greenwich, again lost population.

The city is embarking on a marketing campaign for the first time to combat the trend. According to Peter Tesei, the Greenwich first selectman, the decision was controversial since many people in the city don't think Greenwich needs to market itself.

"We're accentuating the overall quality of life, proximity to New York, Metro-North, Long Island Sound," says Tesei.

There are some winners, according to the new numbers, such as Stamford, whose population continues to boom. Stamford leaders say condos and apartments are going up so fast that some are actually calling for a slowdown. Millennials say they like the urban feel of Stamford.

Other places seeing increases include Milford, Darien, and Danbury.
