The state House passed a measure Monday night that would ban children or incarcerated minors from being placed in solitary confinement.
The measure also mandates new training and reporting by the Department of Correction.
It comes as part of a new effort to improve management of inmates and reduce the use of solitary confinement.
The measure now heads to the Senate.
