Stratford police: Florida man jumped into Housatonic River

Stratford police say they are searching for a Florida man who jumped into the Housatonic River.
According to police, 26-year-old Tavares Harris rammed his car into the side of the Devon Bridge just after midnight in a potential suicide attempt. When that didn't work, he jumped, they say.
Chopper 12 was above the river as police from Stratford, Milford, Bridgeport and Shelton, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, tried to find Harris' body. The search included boat crews, dive teams and aviation and K-9 units.
Police have seized the man's vehicle and are continuing their search.
